Mr. Dixie Belle Contest Mid September

The leather community in the Kansas City area has seen many changes over the past few years. The fondly remembered Dixie Belle Complex disappeared over one year ago from the Kansas City metro area. By supporting the leather community, hosting a location for the new leather shop and welcoming leather folk with open arms, Bootlegger's Club (upstairs at Missie B's) has filled the void for the place to go for leather men and women. Now Bootlegger's will serve as the host bar for the 2008 Mr. Dixie Belle Leather Contest on September 14, 15, and 16.

The tradition of Mr. Dixie Belle Leather will continue. On Friday night September 14th beginning at 9:00pm a meet and greet will be open to the public so everyone can meet the contestants and this year's judging panel. This year International Mr. Leather 2007 Mikel Gerle will serve as head judge. Also on the panel are the current Mr. Dixie Belle Leather Christopher (Crisco) Schiefer, Mark Bozif from St. Louis, Randy Wheeler from Tulsa, OK and Darren Willard from Wichita, KS. The formal introduction of contestants will occur at 10:00pm.

Saturday during the day, the Kansas City Leather University will be hosting educational classes on various aspects of the leather lifestyle. These classes will be held at Bootlegger's Club beginning at noon. Classes will be informative for those curious about the leather lifestyle and for more experienced leather folk. While the classes are going on, the judges will be interviewing the contestants in private.

At 9:00pm sharp Saturday evening the contest festivities begin. Karen Crecelius from St. Louis will be this year's fabulous emcee. The contestants will be answering on stage questions and strutting their stuff in full leather and then in their sexiest leather jock. The contest will wrap up by 11:00pm to be followed by an after party and dancing till closing time!

The morning after brunch show will begin at 11:00am on Sunday. Come and see the funniest (and scariest) drag show of the season! Put Mr. Dixie Belle Leather on your calendar for September 14th, 15th and 16th.
